Hello,
My name is Mick J, and i have been making art for the last 30 years. I am self taught, so it has been a very long road, starting way before the internet.
So with little information I ploughed into the world of painting, which led me to custom painting cars/bikes with some success. I won a few awards on the way and had some magazine features, which was very encouraging.
I then started making bespoke mirrors, clocks from wood and custom painting them, a very enjoyable time indeed.
My direction changed again when I was asked to join a tattoo shop.
I had grown up around a tattoo shop in London and had spent many an afternoon there when i should have been at school. Tattooing has been my life for the last 20 years- the craziest ride of all !!
A few years ago i was diagnosed with M.E/Chronic fatigue syndrome which has made me take a step back from tattooing as i could not always keep appointments. This led me back to painting again (as i don`t have to keep appointments with a painting, haha) which i am loving.
